Welcome back to the Goal Getter Blog Series!

In Part 1 of the Goal Getter Series, I talked about the importance of writing your goals down. In Part 2, I told you why it’s important that you speak your goals. For this blog pot, I am sharing tip #3 for successful Goal Setting.

To be successful with keeping the goals you set for yourself, you must revisit your goals often! Why you ask?.... Because life happens. You get busy, your priorities change, your interests change, all sorts of things can after you set a goal.

Your goals are not a Ronco Rotisserie oven, you can’t just set it and forget it. No! Goals are like plants, they must be watered, nurtured, and tended to. Unfortunately, what usually happens is most people will set goals or “resolve” to make changes (usually around New Year’s) and by the end of the year, they realize they never got around to….

Paying off debt…

Starting school….

Going on that cruise…

Losing that twenty pounds…

Going vegan….

You get my point.

In fact, this is how gyms make their money. Gym companies know they can get you in the door on January 2nd and convince you to sign up for an annual membership, because chances are you will only work out a few times and eventually stop going while they continue to debit your checking account for your monthly membership dues.

You’ve heard the saying “out of sight, out of mind”, right?  Well, the same thing applies to the goals you set for yourself. If you don’t revisit your goals often, you have no way of knowing if you are on track to achieve them. The most successful goal setters incorporate regular check points and check-ins to see if they are on track to achieve their goals. These frequent check-ins allow you to make adjustments and change up your goal if you need to. This keeps you accountable, on track, and sets you up for success.

I hope you are enjoying the tips in this series so far. If you think you are ready to start setting goals #likeaboss, the Goal Getter Guide and Planner is the perfect resource for you to get started.
