5 Steps to Business Success

Step 4: Maximize Your Brand

A strong, effective brand evokes emotion, inspiring people to feel connected to your business. A brand promise will help you solidify your brand and the relationship you have with your customers.  When you have a strong brand, your prospective clients are also more likely to interact with your business. A strong brand  helps you retain a loyal client base that seeks you before thinking of your competitors.

Here are my top tips on how you can amplify your brand authority:

Make your Competition Irrelevant

How do you do this? By radically differentiating yourself as a unique brand with unique products and services. And, by setting yourself on a path no one can follow (unless they are emulating you). Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that you can’t be successful by offering the same kinds of services and products as someone else, because you can. In fact, my baby sister reminded me of this one day when she compared businesses to the bread aisle at a grocery store. There are probably 30 plus brands of bread on the shelf at your local grocery store but they all have their unique brand. Chances are, you have one particular brand of bread that you purchase over and over again. If you think about why you buy that particular brand, it’s probably because you have grown to like, know, and trust that brand. It’s no different in business. Make your competition irrelevant by noting changes in consumer taste and preferences then investing in new concepts to meet those demands. Boost Your Brand Equity

Most business leaders are not so keen on political controversy. However, the delicacy in brand equity is something you must be aware of if you want to maximize your brand. Brand equity entails everything from emotions to experiences your customers get upon exposure to your business. It is the bond between you and your clients; the stronger the bond, the higher your brand equity. The benefit of this is that you get widespread recognition. To achieve brand equity you have to provide quality products and services, have a consistent brand image, listen to your clients and provide an excellent client experience.

Fulfill Your Brand Promise

Your clients come to you because they believe you will deliver on your promises which is the defining value of your business. Your brand is the image people have of your company. It is the “emotional aftertaste” that comes after an experience with a product or service. Always remember, your customers have other options. YOU DON’T! You must strive to deliver what you promise and ensure you satisfy their needs so that they do not develop second thoughts or take their business elsewhere. A perfect example of a company that excels in this is Coca-Cola. They promise “to refresh the world…. To inspire moments of optimism and uplift” – and that is what they do.
